Dr. Kaiser holds a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Applied Physics Electronics and Communication Engineering from the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh, and a Ph.D. degree in Telecommunication Engineering from the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) Pathumthani, Thailand. He worked as a postdoc fellow at Anglia Ruskin University's Big data and Cyber Security Lab and as a Special Research Student at Tohoku University's Wireless Signal Processing and Networking Lab. His research interests include Data Analytics, Machine Learning, Wireless Network & Signal processing, Cognitive Radio networks, Big IoT data, Healthcare, Neuroinformatics, and Cyber Security. Dr. Kaiser has authored over 150 papers in various peer-reviewed journals and conferences. He is a member of several societies, including the Bangladesh Electronic Society, Bangladesh Physical Society, and NOAMI, and is the founding Chapter Chair of the IEEE Bangladesh Section Computer Society Chapter.

Dr Mahmud, appointed to the University Shadow Executive Team in 2022, provides expert input on strategic policy and direction matters related to Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI). He shadows the Pro Vice-Chancellor in research and innovation matters, focusing on the development of the research environment at NTU and its strategic research themes. Dr Mahmud is the Coordinator of the Computer Science and Informatics Unit of Assessment of Research Excellence Framework, research group leader of the Cognitive Computing & Brain Informatics research group, and deputy group leader of the Interactive Systems Research Group. He is an active member of the Computing and Informatics Research Centre and the Medical Technologies Innovation Facility. Dr Mahmud is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Association of Computing Machinery, and professional member of the British Computer Society.

Previously, he held an honorary position of Visiting Scientist at Global Biomedical Technologies Inc., CA, USA (2012–2015). He was awarded his PhD from Jadavpur University in 2015. He is the Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Ambient Computing and Intelligence (IGI Global). He is the Series Co-Editor of Springer Tracts in Nature-Inspired Computing (SpringerNature), Data-Intensive Research (SpringerNature), Advances in Ubiquitous Sensing Applications for Healthcare (Elsevier). He is having 110 books (authored and edited) and over 300 publications in the area of medical imaging, machine learning, computer aided diagnosis, data mining, etc. (over 20,000 Citations, 70 h-index). Furthermore, he is the Fellow of IETE and Senior member of IEEE.

Dr. Valentina Balas, a Ph.D. in Applied Electronics and Telecommunications from the Polytechnic University of Timisoara, has published over 140 research papers in refereed journals and international conferences. Her research interests include Intelligent Systems, Fuzzy Control, Soft Computing, Smart Sensors, Information Fusion, Modeling and Simulation, Electronics, Measurements, and System Theory. She is an editor-in-chief for the International Journal of Advanced Intelligence Paradigms (IJAIP), member of Editorial Boards for national and international journals, and evaluator expert for national and international projects. Balas has also mentored student teams in Microsoft, Google, and IEEE competitions. She is a member of various organizations, including EUSFLAT, ACM, IEEE, TC – Fuzzy Systems, TC - Emergent Technologies, TC – Soft Computing, and IFAC - TC 3.2 Computational Intelligence in Control.
