After a delay of three years, Swami Vivekanandamemorial is set to become a reality. Country’s tallest bronze statue of Vivekananda was installed at the memorial site on Sunday. However, the memorial will be dedicated to the public on September 11. The memorial is being built at Ambazari lake’s overflow point, which is also the origin of Nag river in city. The project has been planned in such a manner that lake water will be visible in the background of the statue.

Gorewada Zoo, now named Balasaheb Thackeray Gorewada International Zoological Park, was inaugurated by Hon. Chief Minister Shri. Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray on January 26, 2021, and opened to the public on January 27, 2021.
